How to Become a Real Estate Agent

Are you burned out with your nine-to-five job? If you are thinking of changing careers and is looking for something lucrative to do, becoming a real estate marketer might just the perfect job for you. Here are the steps to follow to start your real estate career.

Be qualified. Depending on your state, you can be qualified to be an agent when you are 18 or 19 years of age and a legal resident of the United States.

Get educated. Education is important if you want to be a realtor. Again, depending on your state, you have to enroll to a pre-licensing real estate education. You can take this online or you can also admit yourself in a community college or a private university. Usually the short course will last you a few weeks. It is best to do the in-campus program as being acquainted with people in the real estate industry can help you immensely in your career. Remember that in this field, connection is a must!

Take the real estate exam. After you have completed your coursework, you are now ready to take the state real estate examination. Each state may have different requirements so check in the real estate commission website what is required in yours. Prepare your examination fee, application form, a copy of your completed course transcript and other documents that might be needed for taking the test.

Be affiliated with a brokerage. A brokerage is a firm where brokers and real estate agents work. You need to be able to attach yourself to one as it is required by the state that agents work under a company’s sponsorship. There are a lot of brokerage firms out there but make sure that you have one that is highly reputable.

Being one of the Beverly Hills real estate agents takes more than just good education and a mindful choice of the brokerage you connect to. Your career as an agent is an avenue to help people choose the right property for them to invest in. Always give your best because your job is valuable!
